We would like to thank everyone who participated in our third annual blood drive. It was great to see so many people take time out of their day to come help out. A total of 33 lives were saved. The Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund
Our company has proudly donated to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund for years. The Dana Farber Cancer Institute, located in Boston, provides the best treatment possible to cancer patients, both children and adults while also conducting research for a cure. The Jimmy Fund has been active since the 1940's. The Jimmy Fund Clinic is one of the world's premier research and treatment center for children. The founder used drug therapy to achieve the first-ever remissions of childhood leukemia. Jimmy Fund researches continue to make strides against cancer that specifically targets children. Walk to Cure Diabetes
For the past 6 years Capital City Financial Corporation has been committed to sponsoring a remarkable young lady in the Walk to Cure Diabetes. We have donated thousands of dollars all of which went to the American Diabetes Association. The American Diabetes Association is the only non-profit devoted to helping the 23.6 million Americans with diabetes (type 1 and type 2). Their mission is "to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes". The Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra
The Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra's mission is "to present classical and other orchestral performances and provide diverse music education programs at the highest level of artistic and academic excellence for the people of Rhode Island and Southeastern New England for their enjoyment, education and enrichment". Capital City Financial Corporation has sponsored The Last Night at Independence Park in Bristol for years and has donated thousands of dollars to keep their concerts free for the public.
Over the years we have also contributed and supported the following organizations and events, the AIM High Gymnastics Team, the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's Pediatric Day, Coggeshall Farm, ELKS Benevolent Scholarship, the Notre Dame Scholarship, the Rumford Lions Club, Kickemuit Education Foundation, Hasbro Children Hospital and the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
